As the days get shorter and temperatures start to drop, memories of summer nights start to fade and feel increasingly distant. It doesn’t necessarily need to be that way – we’ve got around 300 days of sunshine here in Malta, meaning that we can enjoy an extended summer that generally extends itself all the way into mid-December.
Even though sand and sea may not feature at the top of the agenda during the autumn months, there are a myriad of other equally exciting things to do in Malta. If you’re suddenly missing a dose of Vitamin D, we’re willing to throw in a 40% discount for all bookings received between the months of September and December to sweeten the deal.
In the meantime, here are our favourite things to do in Malta during these months:
Pamper yourself at the Spa
Whether you’re in the mood for a sauna, spending some time in the Jacuzzi, or relaxing whilst receiving one of the several beauty treatments, spas are generally synonymous to wellbeing and relaxation. Enjoy all of the benefits of a fully equipped spa right here at the Marina Hotel Corinthia Beach Resort and benefit from exclusive packages and discounts during your stay.
Go Golfing
The Royal Malta Golf Club offers the ideal setting for relaxing, socialising, or working on your handicap. Beautifully maintained and strategically positioned, this unique golf course is located in the central part of the Island. The RMGC was founded in 1888 when golf was played around the moats and bastions formed by the fortification walls of the Capital City Valletta.
This is an 18-hole, par-68 course and is in excellent condition for all twelve months of the year.
Experience Valletta by Night
Whether you’re after eclectic bistros, whisky bars, stand-up comedy venues, the theatre, fine dining, or simply enjoying a quiet drink in the centre of Malta’s shimmering capital, you should definitely visit Valletta at night. Be sure to visit the notorious Strait Street district and enjoy one of the cocktails or tapas platters there; we’d recommend an Old Fashioned and a bowl of mussels from StrEat Whisky & Bistro or a Basil Smash from the iconic Tico Tico.
Spend the Day in Gozo
Apart from being the perfect retreat from the frantic pace of modern life, Gozo has much to offer. Whether you are into culture, trekking or just lying down on one of the island’s pristine beaches, gazing out at the crystal clear, azure waters – there is something to suit everyone. It is also worth noting that Gozo has been awarded the Quality Coast Award for its amazing waters and magnificent geographical and geological views around its coasts.
Explore the Countryside
During these fresher months, exploring the countryside is definitely one of the more popular things to do in Malta. Maltese countryside is considerably greener and much more pleasant to admire. Whether you’re in the mood of joining one of the Marina’s organised Country Walks, or hire a quad bike and venture your way through the narrow pathways of Malta’s ‘off the beaten track’ trails, that are definitely ones to discover during your stay.

Film and Share your Experiences
Whichever mood you’re in, and whatever you fancy, there are enough things to do in Malta to suit all your needs. The Marina Hotel also offers the possibility of testing a GoPro camera for free to accompany you on all of your adventures, simply ask at reception for further details – you could be in with the chance to win a five-night stay!
See you soon!
